Joan Pontius 

Joan Pontius is a bioinformatics expert with an emphasis in comparative genomics and gene expression in vertebrates. She has worked in the United States at the National Center for Bioinformatics (NCBI) on the UniGene project, has played a lead role in the annotation of the cat genome assembly at the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity (LGD), and is currently working for SRA International as a scientist for the project of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
