Michail Rotkevich


Mikhail Rotkevich joined the Theodosius Dobzhansky Center for Genome Informatics in December 2012 as a student and graduated from the Department of Probability Theory & Mathematical Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Saint-Petersburg State University in 2013. Scientific interests are in mathematics, especially in probability theory, mathematical statistics and random processes theory; data processing and storing, software development, applying mathematical methods in scientific areas, algorithms, data analysis, biostatistics.



During his work in the Dobzhansky Center he got an experience in:

  • Genome-wide association studies
  • Development of software for processing biological data, performing various statistical tests, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and discovering genetic associations.
  • Support and creation of databases.
  • Development and maintenance of interfaces and web interfaces for databases.
  • Multiple testing problem
