2015 Genome10K Conference

Sunday, March 1, 2015 5:00 PM to Thursday, March 5, 2015 5:00 PM
Location: Chaminade Resort, Santa Cruz, CA, USA
Hosted By David Haussler, UC Santa Cruz

The 2015 Genome10K Conference will bring together scientists and stakeholders comprising the Genome10K Community of Scientists (G10KCOS)—zoologists, geneticists, genome scientists, technologists, and bioinformaticians who have pledged to facilitate the genome sequence and analyses of some 10,000 living species of vertebrates. At this meeting, the G10KCOS will take stock of progress to date and chart the course for the future. The 2015 meeting will feature a workshop on taxon selection and how to facilitate the next sequencing projects, working group meetings for the members tackling genome assembly, annotation, and alignment, and a series of platform presentations and poster sessions to highlight the most exciting new advances from the Genome 10K Project and the most pressing challenges. We are also planning a public presentation in conjunction with the workshop to raise general awareness of this exciting new approach to species conservation.
